The Italian Cultural Institute of Nairobi is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers scholarships for the academic year 2026–2027. These scholarships are available to Kenyan students, students from the Seychelles, and Italian citizens residing in Kenya. The aim is to promote international cooperation in the cultural, scientific, and technological fields, as well as to foster the spread of the Italian language and culture.
Types of Scholarships
- Master’s Degree Programmes: Duration of 9 months. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Higher Education in Arts, Music and Dance (AFAM): Duration of 9 months. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the chosen institution.
- PhD Programmes: Duration of 9 months. Applicants must meet the admission requirements and provide a letter of admission from an Italian university.
- Research Projects under Academic Supervision: Duration of 9 months. Applicants must submit a research project and a letter of invitation/acceptance from the host institution.
- Advanced Courses in Italian Language and Culture: Duration of 3 months. Applicants must hold a certificate proving knowledge of the Italian language at level A2.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s Degree and AFAM programmes: Applicants must be born on or after 27 March 1997 (maximum age 28 years).
- PhD programmes: Applicants must be born on or after 27 March 1995 (maximum age 30 years).
- Research projects: Applicants must be born on or after 27 March 1985 (maximum age 40 years).
