itivity (Website)

As part of the Week of Italian Language in the World, the Italian Cultural Institute of Nairobi invites the public to an afternoon dedicated to poetry and creative writing with Italian poet and writer Elisa Biagini.

During the workshop, participants will be invited to explore creative writing through exercises and prompts, focusing on the expressive possibilities of words and on the relationship between experience, images and poetry.

Elisa Biagini is the author of several poetry collections, including L’ospite, Nel bosco, Da una crepa, Filamenti and L’intravisto. Her poetry has been published and translated internationally, and some of her collections are bilingual. She teaches Art History, Literature and Creative Writing at New York University Florence and has taught and presented her work in Italy and internationally.

As part of the afternoon, Elisa Biagini will also read a selection of her poems in both Italian and English, offering participants an opportunity to experience poetry through two languages and to explore the relationship between language, sound and meaning.

A light refreshment will be offered to participants at the end of the workshop.

Participation is free, but registration is required at this link. Places are limited.
