As part of Fare Cinema 2026, the initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to celebrate Italian cinema and the audiovisual industry worldwide, the Italian Cultural Institute of Nairobi is pleased to present Re-Launching Luigi Broglio, an immersive virtual reality experience dedicated to the pioneer of Italy’s space programme and the country’s contribution to space exploration.
The screenings are organized by Black Rhino VR Academy and Cultural Video Production/TheNrbBus, with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.

Through the use of VR headsets, participants will embark on a unique immersive journey into the story of Luigi Broglio, the engineer and visionary widely regarded as the father of the Italian space programme.
Created by award-winning director and producer Vincenzo Cavallo, Re-Launching Luigi Broglio combines cinematic storytelling and immersive technology to explore the life of the pioneer of Italy’s space programme.
A leading figure in immersive media, Cavallo received the Lumière Award and XR Must Award in 2020 for African Space Makers. In 2025, Re-Launching Luigi Broglio was awarded the Venice Biennale College Cinema Immersive Production Grant and was later recognized as the Best European 360° Immersive Experience 2025.
