Grants for Italian Language Courses at Universities – 2026

We are pleased to inform you of an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Applications are now open for a grant aimed at supporting the establishment and operation of Italian language courses at universities.

The main objective of this grant is to facilitate the teaching of the Italian language by providing financial assistance to cover part of the salary of lecturers directly employed by the university under local contracts.

To be eligible for this funding, the courses must specifically focus on teaching the Italian language, be conducted in Italian, and take place within the applicant institution. The funds granted for teaching support must be used by the end of the academic year for which they are awarded.

Required Documents for the Grant Application:

  • A concise but detailed letter of application and motivation from the university, on official university letterhead, signed by the Academic Head and bearing the university’s official stamp (maximum one page).

  • Completed Form A (grant application form).

  • Completed Form B (final report on the use of previously received funds), to be submitted exclusively by institutions that have already benefited from this funding. This form is a mandatory requirement for the approval and disbursement of the current grant. It is essential that this form be submitted by the end of the academic year for which the previous funds were received.

The deadline for submitting grant applications is 9th March 2026.
