Mounting of Karanja, the famous Maasai Mara rhino, deceased of natural causes in 2014.
An ongoing project of the Italian Cultural Institute in collaboration with the National Museums of Kenya
The mounting process, conducted by Dr. Ogeto Mwembi (Research Scientist / Head of Osteology Section Zoology Dept. of the Museum) is being photographed, step by step, by Italian naturalist Paolo Torchio. The collection of these photographs will be displayed in an exhibition at the National Museums of Kenya – Aga Khan Hall – in August 2018.
