Italian Fashion Show

Italians have dressed well for centuries. Italian silk textiles were famous throughout Europe from medieval times onward. Yet the Italian fashion industry as such is a quite recent phenomenon. It was in the 1950 that a distinctive Italian Look was about to emerge. A crucial step in putting Italy on the world fashion map was the first multi-designer Italian fashion show, held in Florence in 1951. That turned the spotlight on such pioneer designers as the Fontana Sisters, Contessa Visconti and others, The 1960s and 70s brought new stars to the fashion world Valentino, Lancetti, Krizia, Biagiotti just to mention a few.

Gianna Brighetti, a famous model of the 60s and 70s, has lent her original designer outfits from those years, while Mariolina RissoRicci also an ex top model, is the creator of the original display within picture frames of all dresses and scarves for this extraordinary show of historical Italian fashion.
