The Italian Cultural Institute is pleased to announce the Mombasa Ocean Festival, an exceptional project promoted by the EUNIC Kenya Cluster and coordinated by the Alliance Française of Mombasa.
The festival, which will take place from June 4th to 8th, 2024 in Mombasa to celebrate World Oceans Day on June 8th, will offer a series of cultural and educational activities aimed at raising public awareness about the impact of human actions on the oceans.
The events, which will be held at the Alliance Française, KMFRI, Studio BelaBela, Swahili Pot Hub, and various participating schools, aim to educate the community about the threats to our precious marine environment and how we can all better protect our oceans.
Events Open to the Public:
- June 4-14 (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM): Underwater Photography Exhibition
- June 5 (5:30 PM): Opening evening with film screening, art exhibitions, and audiovisual performances
- June 8 (9:00 AM – 8:00 PM): Ocean Fiesta and Concert for the Ocean
- June 8 (4:00 PM): Interactive puppet performance
