The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation informs that on Wednesday 4th November at 12.15 the opening event of the IV Giornata del Design italiano nel mondo – Italian Design Day, entitled “Drawing the future. Development, innovation, sustainability, beauty ”, in the presence of the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Manlio Di Stefano, and the Undersecretary of MiBACT, Anna Laura Orrico. The Director General for the Promotion of the Country System, Amb. Lorenzo Angeloni, and the President of the Compasso d’Oro Foundation, Umberto Cabini.
The event will have an exclusively virtual format: live streaming will be broadcast on the Farnesina’s YouTube channel.
The theme of the Italian Design Day 2020 – “Designing the future. Development, innovation, sustainability, beauty “- intends to reflect on the ability of Italian design to trace ever new development scenarios, placing proposals for improving human life and safeguarding the planet at the center of the work of architects and designers. These issues are even more current in the context of the health emergency linked to COVID19.
The Italian Design Day has established itself over the years as an effective tool to support the promotion of design and the internationalization of a strategic industrial sector for our export and includes a rich schedule of promotional events created by the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE Offices abroad, which will take place again this year despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
