Italian illustrator Emmanuele Baccinelli will be one of the guests of the Mombasa Comic Convention, the first comicon to be held in Kenya’s second largest city!
Emmanuele Baccinelli (1988) is an Italian illustrator and cartoonist. After finishing art high school and attending a comics course in Vercelli, he works with small publishing companies as a cartoonist and illustrator. In 2014, he won the competition for new artists organized by Disney/Panini and began working as a cartoonist for Mickey Mouse and other Disney titles. He creates covers for the Disney Legendary Collection series, the French Disney title “Mickey Parade Géant”, and for the New Mickey Mouse Almanac. He won in 2019 the Albertarelli prize for emerging cartoonists awarded by the Anafi association. Since 2017, he has been a lecturer of humorous comics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Novara and a drawing teacher in the Experience Summer Camp courses.
The Mombasa Comic Convention will take place at the Alliance Française (Nyali) on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the event Emmanuele will offer live drawing sessions and a masterclass dedicated to professional and emerging illustrators.
