To celebrate the Africa Day 2022, the Italian Cultural Institute has the pleasure to invite you to a conversation with the writer Djarah Kan.
Djarah Kan (1993) is an Italian-Ghanaian writer born and raised in the province of Caserta (Italy). Since she was a teen-ager, she has been interested in writing as a means of expression and resilience. In 2019 she published the story “Il mio nome” (“My Name”) in the book “Future: il domani narrato dalle voci di oggi” (Future: Tomorrow narrated by the voices of today” – Effequ) and in 2020 her first collection of short stories “Ladri di denti” (Tooth Thieves – People). She also works as contributor for the Italian weekly news magazine “L’Espresso”.
The event will take place at Cheche Bookshop and Café (Intrade Africa Place – Clock B, Kauria Close, Off Muthangari Road, Lavington – Nairobi) on Friday 27th May from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Light refreshments will be offered during the event.
