The last performance of Place To Be takes place in the Monferrato vineyards, between the rows of Cella Monte. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Cella Monte is an enchanting village that must be discovered and savored among wine tastings, agnolotti, infernot and incredible musical performances such as the one to be held on September 23 with Nu Guinea.
Nu Guinea are Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina and to tell their story (and listen to their music) we must start from the “techno” heart of Naples, with the cold colours of the second half of the zero years. They start collaborating a few years later, when their images turn to warm tones and blur, in the sound stasis that surrounds them. They decide to change cities and start from scratch with a new “form” that tells of new passions. Goodbye Naples and welcome to Berlin: here starts the research on the sounds of Naples in the 70s and 80s and of a South of the world, vast and far from cliché, which is continuous inspiration (Cuba, Brazil, Nigeria, India. Thus was born the Nu Guinea project, which mixes funk, afro flavors and (naturally) the Neapolitan dialect, with a truly unique nonchalance in the world.
The show is available starting at 7pm (Italian time,) 8pm (Kenya time), in live streaming on Dice TV (https://bit.ly/PTB_nuguinea), upon registration, and subsequently on demand (from 25/09) on www.italianmusicfestivals.com
