The Italian Cultural Institute of Nairobi, together with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Nairobi, under the guidance of the Embassy of Italy in Kenya, presents Voices Without Borders, an event within the #Activate campaign for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
A visual journey through the voices and stories of women from different cultures, told through two short films exploring resilience, creativity, and the power of artistic expression.
The evening will open in Kakuma, one of Kenya’s largest refugee camps, where the Sudanese collective The Kamp offers an authentic look into the challenges and daily life of women living in the camp.
The second short film, In una goccia (In a Drop) by Valeria Weerasinghe, an Italian–Sri Lankan director, will take us to Italy on a dreamlike journey between two cultures, in search of one’s roots and identity.
An encounter of stories that transcend borders, showing how art and storytelling can unite, inspire, and spark change.
