The Italian Cultural Institute of Nairobi ideally closes the “Giornata del Contemporaneo” (Contemporary Art Day) and inaugurates the “Settimana della Lingua Italiana” (Week of the Italian Language in the World) with the exhibition “Italian Excellence. Figures for Italo Calvino”.
Curated by Bologna Fiere, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Emilia-Romagna Region, and already presented in numerous countries around the world, in Kenya the exhibition presents the works of thirty emerging illustrators selected within the framework of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which launched a competition dedicated to illustrations inspired by Italian writer Italo Calvino, in which over five hundred illustrators from all over the world participated.
In Nairobi, the exhibition will be on display from 13 to 16 October 2023 at the Village Market.
