The Italian Cultural Institute of Nairobi, in collaboration with the Kenyatta University and other international partners, presents “Ékstasi – Transcultural Storytelling Across Space, Time and Media”.
Produced by Opera Network with Ensemble San Felice and directed by Carla Zanin (concept) and Federico Bardazzi (music), “Ékstasi” explores the interconnection between European and African myths and musical traditions through a mosaic of sound, poetry, and technology. This extraordinary cultural journey will feature performances by artists such as Patrizia Cigna (soprano) and Leonardo De Lisi (tenor).
The program is divided into five sections, ranging from the ancient Greek poetry of Sappho to Kenyan traditional music, and will also celebrate the centenary of Giacomo Puccini. Folk music and contemporary works by other artists will follow. An immersive experience that combines music, poetry, and technological innovation, with the goal of promoting global cultural understanding and dialogue between tradition and modernity.
