FARE CINEMA 15-21 June 2020

Fare Cinema (Making Cinema) back in its third edition, from 15th  to 21st June, will be entirely online on the RaiPlay platform.
The season includes I Mestieri del Cinema (The Italian Movie Industry), a series of masterclasses with film critics, lecturers, screenwriters, cinematographers, set designers, composers, costume designers, makeup artists and editors; a series of feature and short films and a special tribute to Federico Fellini and Alberto Sordi on the centenary of their birth.
This year, for the first time we will also be celebrating Italian Cinema World Day on 20 June.
The season is organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MiBACT), the National Association of Film and Audiovisual Industry (ANICA), Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and Istituto Luce – Cinecittà.

Original contents by MAECI:

  • a masterclass by screenwriter, director and journalist Gianfranco Angelucci dedicated to Federico Fellini’s films;
  • two masterclasses by journalist and critic Gianni Canova dedicated to Alberto Sordi and contemporary Italian film;
  • a short film on Federico Fellini;
  • La voce di Fellini |The voice of Fellini, a Fare Cinema 2020 promotional film by the Istituto Luce Cinecittà.

  • the five titles in the “Best Short Film” category of the 2020 David di Donatello awards, in collaboration with the Accademia del Cinema Italiano;
  • three episodes of the series OffStage, dedicated to the career of acting and made by the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, and three episodes of the series A scuola di cinema con RaiMovie (“At cinema school with RaiMovie”), dedicated to the career of screenwriting and made by the Associazione 100Autori;
  • eighteen episodes of the series Fellini in Frames, a journey through the great director’s films through material from the archives of the Istituto Luce Cinecittà.
