Luoghi del Contemporaneo is an online search platform launched by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism whose aim is to map the network of contemporary art venues in Italy. It contributes to the real-time monitoring of the contemporary art venues open to the public; business-driven organisations have not been added to this platform. The interactive search platform, implemented and amended based on the dynamics of the current art scene, is an important tool to allow everyone to get to know Italian contemporary art and artists.
The mapping has been organized according to a typological division: Arts in urban and public spaces, Associations, Collections, Foundations, Foreign Institutions, Museums, Company Museums, Parks and Gardens, Exhibition Spaces and Independent Spaces.
