Borgate dal vivo is a touring festival staged throughout Piedmont, Liguria, Aosta Valley and Lombardy, with the aim of promoting mountainous areas at significant risk of depopulation. The Festival works as a sort of exchange, bringing cultural events, theatre and music into villages and towns and consequently making these beautiful locations better known to the public. Sacra di San Michele, a medieval monastery high up in the mountains near Turin, is the perfect venue for the performance: in the words of Dante “a riveder le stelle” – to see again the stars, with Elisabetta Bosio (violin) and Saulo Lucci reciting the last canto of Dante’s Inferno.
