Who organizes them.
The internships have been instituted by the Convention between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Diplomatic Institute) and the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities (CRUI).
To-date 57 Italian universities have joined the Convention between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities (CRUI). In the period 2001-2004 more than 3,000 internships were offered at the Ministry or its offices abroad, for which almost 10,000 applications were submitted.
Programme
The programme is addressed to those who wish to get into contact with our country’s international relations’ system in the political, economic, socio-cultural, scientific and development co-operation sectors, and offers the possibility to acquire – from a privileged perspective – direct and concrete knowledge of the operation of the Ministry’s structures in Italy and abroad. It is therefore recommended both for those who are interested in drawing a basis for launching an international career and those who wish to pursue a study project widening their knowledge “in the field”, to the completion of their academic studies’ programme.
The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Diplomatic Institute deals with the coordination of the programme and various aspects of its management, in collaboration with CRUI. In particular: it defines its objectives, modalities and contents; it arranges for the periodic publication of positions offered with respective job descriptions; it promotes its widest circulation; does the selection of candidates; handles of the initiatives useful to profitable and educational activity of the selected winners in the offices assigned; effects general monitoring on the undertaking of the internships and on results achieved.
